Dr. Karen Rabin has joined the Center for Cancer, Blood Disorders, and Cellular Therapies at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals as Director of the Leukemia Program. A nationally recognized leader in pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), Dr. Rabin brings specialized expertise in treating children with both complex hematologic cancers and unique needs.
Clinical expertise:
- Pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML)
- Specialized management of ALL in children with Down syndrome
- Complex hematological malignancies
Research leadership:
- Understanding genetic features and improving outcomes for ALL in children with Down syndrome
- Innovative strategies to improve ALL cure rates
- Enhancing outcomes for Latino children and adolescents with ALL
- NIH- and foundation-funded research on ALL outcomes
