The clinicians at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals’ outpatient Pediatric Allergy Center in Oakland diagnose and treat a variety of allergic disorders while working closely with researchers to bring the latest treatment breakthroughs to our young patients as quickly as possible. Our experienced team is wellversed in the latest food allergies, innovative treatments and cutting-edge immunotherapies. We provide comprehensive, kid-friendly care to infants, children and adolescents, while also educating patients’ families.

Our comprehensive services include:

  • Allergy testing for environmental aeroallergens and food
  • Skin prick testing, intradermal testing and graded challenges for drug allergies
  • Management of food allergies
  • Management of atopic dermatitis (a risk factor for food allergies)
  • Management of allergic rhinitis (including seasonal allergies)
  • Management of allergy-related asthma
  • Biologic (antibody) therapies for allergic conditions such as chronic idiopathic urticaria (chronic hives), atopic dermatitis and allergic asthma
  • Immunotherapy: sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) for dust mite and grass pollen allergies; soon to be offered: subcutaneous immunotherapy for environmental aeroallergens (allergy shots)

  • Our recently established outpatient center in Oakland brings worldclass allergy-related care to the East Bay.
  • We have specialized training in providing compassionate, patient-first care for children. Unlike providers who may divide their time between adult and pediatric patients, we treat only children, including infants and toddlers.
  • Patients are supported by nurse navigators throughout their treatment and may be seen by multiple specialists during one visit, ensuring more coordinated care.
